Windmill Integration
Put your website chat, leads and knowledge base into a Windmill flow
Overview
Windmill turns scripts into workflows, schedules and small apps. The Asyntai scripts put your website inside those workflows.
Point Asyntai at a domain. Asyntai crawls the site, reads the product feed, and keeps both fresh. A Windmill flow then asks that website a question and gets the answer a visitor would get, built from the real pages and the real prices.
The same scripts open the other side of the website: the chats visitors had, and the email addresses and phone numbers they left.
Scripts
Nine scripts sit under the asyntai integration:
- Ask the website a question — answers from the website's pages, products and knowledge base.
- Add a page to the knowledge base — reads one web page and stores it.
- Add a text to the knowledge base — stores a title and a text you write.
- List the knowledge base entries — shows what the website agent knows.
- List the leads from the chat — the visitors who left an address or a number.
- Get a lead by email address — the chats of one contact.
- List the recent chat sessions — the conversations, newest first.
- Get a chat transcript — every message of one conversation.
- List the websites on the account — the id and domain of each agent.
Requirements
- A Windmill workspace, on Windmill Cloud or self-hosted
- An Asyntai account on the Starter plan or higher, because the scripts use the Asyntai API
Installation
Follow these steps to use Asyntai in Windmill:
Get Your API Key
Sign in to Asyntai, open Settings, then API, and copy your API key.
Add the Asyntai Resource
In Windmill, open Resources, press Add a resource, and choose asyntai. Paste the key into api_key. Leave base_url empty. Windmill keeps the key in one place, so every flow can use it.
Add a Script
Open a flow, press +, and search the Hub for asyntai. Pick a script, for example Ask the website a question.
Fill In the Arguments
Choose the Asyntai resource in the first field. Fill in the rest, then press Test. The answer appears on the right.
Finding the website_id
Most scripts take an optional website_id. Leave it empty and Asyntai uses the primary website of the account.
Run List the websites on the account once to see the id of each agent, then paste the one you want.
Tip: Pass the same session_id on every call to Ask the website a question and the agent keeps one conversation, so it remembers what was said before.
Example Flow
A flow that moves new chat leads into your own systems:
- A schedule runs every hour.
- List the leads from the chat returns the new leads.
- A loop takes each lead and calls Get a chat transcript with its session_id.
- A Postgres step writes the address, the page and the transcript to your table.
Errors
Every script raises a plain message that Windmill shows in the job log:
- The Asyntai resource has no api_key — the resource is empty. Paste the key.
- Asyntai rejected the API key — the key is wrong. Copy it again from Settings → API.
- The Asyntai API needs the Starter plan or higher — the account is on the free plan.
- The Asyntai message limit for this month is reached — the plan's message count is used up.
