How do I add the chatbot to my Statamic site?
After signing up, copy your unique chatbot snippet from the Asyntai dashboard. Open your Statamic project and edit your main layout file — typically resources/views/layout.antlers.html. Paste the snippet just before the closing </body> tag, commit the change, and deploy. The chatbot loads on every page that uses that layout. The whole process takes under 5 minutes. If your project uses multiple layouts, repeat the paste in each one, or drop the snippet into a shared partial and include it everywhere.
Does it work with both flat-file and database-driven Statamic setups?
Yes. Asyntai is a front-end JavaScript snippet that loads in the visitor's browser, so it does not care how your content is stored on the server. Whether you are running a classic flat-file Statamic project, using the Eloquent driver with MySQL or Postgres, or a hybrid setup, the installation is identical — paste the snippet into your layout and you are done.
Will it slow down my site? Statamic is known for being fast.
No. The chatbot script loads asynchronously after your page content is already rendered, so it has zero effect on your initial paint or Core Web Vitals. Statamic sites stay fast because the server response happens first — the widget then initialises in the background once the page is visible. Most visitors will not notice it loading at all until they click the chat bubble.
Do I need a Statamic Pro license to use this?
No. The chatbot is independent of your Statamic license level. It works equally well on Solo, Pro, and the free Starter Kit — there is no Statamic addon to buy and no package to install in your project. You simply paste the JavaScript snippet into your layout file, and everything else is managed from the Asyntai dashboard.
Does it work with Statamic's static caching and Static Site Generator?
Yes. Because the snippet is pure HTML and JavaScript, it is baked into whatever Statamic serves — cached HTML, pre-generated static files from the Static Site Generator, or live-rendered pages. The widget then connects to our servers from the visitor's browser, so the chat functionality stays live and up to date even when your pages are fully static.
Can I install it without editing the Antlers template directly?
Yes. If you would rather not edit the layout file, you can create a small partial (for example resources/views/partials/asyntai.antlers.html) that contains the snippet, and include it from your layout with {{ partial:asyntai }}. Another option is to store the snippet in a Global Set in the Control Panel and render it from your layout. Both approaches keep the snippet out of your main template while still loading it on every page.
Does it work with multi-site Statamic installations?
Yes. Each Statamic site gets its own Asyntai setup with its own training data, branding, and customisation. If your multi-site install shares a single layout, you can use different snippets per site by checking the active site in your Antlers template. If each site has its own layout, just paste the appropriate snippet into each one. The Free plan covers 1 site, Starter 2, Standard 3, and Pro up to 10 — useful when you run several brands, languages, or client projects from one Statamic installation.
Will the chatbot stay in sync with content I edit in the Control Panel?
Yes. When you add your website URL, we crawl the public pages rendered by your Statamic site. After you publish new content in the Control Panel and redeploy (or after your cache rebuilds), you can trigger a quick recrawl from the Asyntai dashboard so the chatbot knows about the latest pages and copy. You can also upload PDFs, brochures, or internal guides for any information that is not published on the live site.
Do I need developer help to install it?
Only a small amount. Because the snippet goes into a layout file in your Statamic codebase rather than into the Control Panel, someone needs to be comfortable editing a template and redeploying the site. If you manage your own Statamic project, you can do it yourself in a few minutes. If a developer or agency built the site for you, they can add it in well under 5 minutes.
