Webex Integration
An AI assistant that answers your team's questions inside Cisco Webex
Overview
The Asyntai bot answers questions inside Cisco Webex. Somebody asks in a space or in a direct message, and the answer comes back from your own content: your website, your uploaded documents and your help centre articles. Nobody has to search through pages that nobody remembers.
AI disclaimer: Answers in Webex are generated by AI. They may sometimes be inaccurate or incomplete and should be verified before you rely on them, especially for important decisions.
How It Works
Asyntai runs the bot for you, so there is nothing to install on a server. Webex tells Asyntai that a message was written, Asyntai reads the question, finds the answer in your content and posts it back into the same space. Each person and each space gets their own conversation, so follow-up questions are understood against what came before.
Requirements
- An Asyntai account. Creating one is free, and the Free plan is enough to test the bot.
- A Cisco Webex account, on any plan that includes messaging
- Somebody who can add an app to a Webex space
Installation
Follow these steps to add Asyntai to Webex:
Add the Bot
In Webex, open a space and add the address below as a member, or start a direct message with it. The bot appears in the space straight away.
Say Hello
Write anything to the bot. Because it does not know your company yet, it replies with a link. Open that link.
Connect Your Asyntai Account
Sign in to Asyntai, or create an account in a few seconds, and choose which website the bot should answer from. One connection covers every space in your Webex organisation, so you never have to repeat this step.
Ask a Question
Go back to Webex. In a space, mention the bot and ask:
@Asyntai what is our refund policy?
In a direct message, no mention is needed. Just write the question.
Tip: Point the AI at your internal documents, questions and answers, and your handbook from your Asyntai Dashboard so it answers questions specific to your team and your processes.
Where the Bot Answers
- In a space. The bot answers only when somebody mentions it. This is Cisco's rule, and it means the bot never reads the rest of the conversation.
- In a direct message. Every message reaches the bot, so a person can ask a private question without the whole team reading it.
Commands
- help shows what the bot does. If it is not connected yet, it shows the connect link again.
What the Bot Can Do
- Answer team questions at once, day and night, in spaces and in direct messages
- Reply in 36 languages, chosen automatically from the language of the question
- Keep the context of a conversation, so short follow-up questions still work
- Answer from your own documents, questions and answers, and instructions
- Say that it does not know, instead of inventing an answer, when your content does not cover the question
Example Use Cases
- New staff: new people ask the bot about policies, tools and processes
- Internal help desk: the bot takes the repeated questions, so your team answers the rest
- Finding knowledge: answers from your documentation without searching for the right page
- Teams in several countries: everyone asks in their own language and is answered in it
The Same Account Answers Your Website Visitors
The content behind this bot also powers the Asyntai chat widget on your public website. Add one snippet to your site, and visitors get answers from the same knowledge, with no extra setup. How to add the widget.
Privacy
Asyntai receives the text of the question, the space it was written in, and the identifier of the person who wrote it. That identifier builds the conversation thread, so follow-up questions work. In a space the bot receives only messages that mention it, so the rest of the conversation is never sent. Files, meetings, recordings and transcripts are never read.
Questions and answers are stored in your Asyntai account so you can read them in your dashboard, and they count towards your monthly message allowance. You can disconnect at any time, and the bot stops answering at once. Privacy policy.
Plans & Pricing
The Webex bot works on every Asyntai plan, including the Free plan. Each plan includes a monthly number of messages, shared across your website widget and all your integrations. Paid plans raise that number. View pricing.
Removing the Bot
Remove the bot from the space, in the same way you remove any other member. To cut the link between Webex and your content, open your Asyntai dashboard and disconnect Webex there.
