Google Tag Manager Integration
Put the Asyntai chat widget on your site from Google Tag Manager, without touching your code
Overview
Google Tag Manager holds the third party scripts that run on your website, and you publish them without a developer. Asyntai has an official tag in the Community Template Gallery. You add the tag, paste your widget ID, and your chat assistant goes live. You edit no templates and paste no code into your website.
How It Works
Your Tag Manager container is already on every page of your site. The Asyntai tag tells that container to load the chat widget with your widget ID. Nothing else changes, and the tag adds the widget only once per page, even if the container fires it again.
Requirements
- An Asyntai account. Creating one is free, and the Free plan is enough to test the widget.
- A Google Tag Manager web container, already installed on your website
- Permission to edit and publish that container
Installation
Follow these steps to add Asyntai to your website through Google Tag Manager:
Copy Your Widget ID
Open the Install page in your Asyntai dashboard. Your widget ID is the value of data-asyntai-id in the snippet shown there.
data-asyntai-id="asyntai_xxxxxxxxxxxx"
Create the Tag
In Tag Manager, open Tags, then New, then Tag Configuration. Choose Discover more tag types in the Community Template Gallery, search for Asyntai, and add it to your workspace.
Paste Your Widget ID
The tag asks for one value only. Paste your widget ID into the Widget ID field.
Give It the All Pages Trigger
Choose the All Pages trigger, so the widget appears on every page. Then name the tag and save it.
Publish
Press Submit in Tag Manager to publish the container. Open your website and the chat bubble is there.
Tip: Add your documents, questions and answers, and your instructions in the Asyntai Dashboard before you publish, so the assistant answers properly from the first visitor.
What the Tag Does
- It loads the Asyntai chat widget with the widget ID you entered
- It runs only on the trigger you choose, so your pages stay fast
- It adds the widget once per page, even if the container fires the tag again
- It does nothing at all when the widget ID is empty
Removing It
Pause or delete the Asyntai tag in Tag Manager and publish the container again. The widget disappears from your site at once.
Privacy
The tag sends no data on its own. Asyntai receives data only when a visitor opens the chat and writes a message, exactly as it would with a snippet pasted by hand. Privacy policy.
Plans & Pricing
The tag is free, and the widget works on every Asyntai plan, including the Free plan. Each plan includes a monthly number of messages, shared across your website widget and all your integrations. Paid plans raise that number. View pricing.
