Does it work with any frontend I use with Payload (Next.js, Nuxt, Astro, etc.)?
Yes. Because Payload is headless, your frontend can be anything. Asyntai is a plain JavaScript snippet, so it works identically in Next.js (both App Router and Pages Router), Nuxt, SvelteKit, Astro, Remix, Gatsby, and custom setups. You just drop it into a layout or template that renders on every page. The same Payload project can even power several frontends — each one adds the snippet once and is done.
Do I need to read from Payload's API or use my collections to train the chatbot?
No. You do not need to expose Payload's REST or GraphQL API, write custom endpoints, or map your collections to anything. We learn from the live pages your frontend already renders — we read the same HTML your visitors see. If you prefer to provide additional context that is not on the public site (rate cards, service menus, PDF brochures, internal FAQs) you can upload those directly in the dashboard.
Will it slow down my site?
No. Payload-powered frontends are typically very fast, and the chatbot keeps them that way. The script loads asynchronously after your main content is already on the page and runs completely independently from your frontend rendering — zero impact on server-side rendering, Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse scores, or page load times. It will not interfere with Next.js streaming, hydration, or any framework-specific behavior.
Does it work with Payload's preview mode and draft content?
The chatbot is trained on your public, published pages — the same content your real visitors can see. It does not index draft or preview content that is only visible to logged-in editors.
