Confluence Integration

Let your assistant answer from your Confluence wiki

Connect Confluence

Overview

Your Confluence wiki is where your company writes down how it actually works: handbooks, processes, product documentation, and onboarding guides. Connecting it means your assistant answers questions using that documentation, so your team gets accurate answers without searching through pages.

How to Connect

Follow these steps to connect your Confluence site to Asyntai:

1

Start the Connection

Sign in to Asyntai, then open the Confluence connection page:

Connect Confluence

If you have more than one website in Asyntai, choose which one should receive the wiki content.

2

Approve Access on Atlassian

You will be sent to Atlassian to approve the connection. Choose the Confluence site you want to use and accept. Asyntai only asks for permission to read pages and spaces. It can never create, change, or delete anything in your wiki.

3

First Sync Runs Automatically

As soon as you are connected, Asyntai starts reading your pages and adding them to your knowledge base. Depending on how many pages you have, this takes from a few seconds to a few minutes.

4

Choose Which Spaces to Include

By default every space you can see is included. You can narrow it down to specific spaces at any time, which is useful when some spaces contain drafts or content that should not be used for answers.

5

Ask a Question

Open your chat and ask something that is documented in your wiki. The assistant now answers from your own pages.

Tip: Re-run the sync whenever your documentation changes significantly. Updated pages replace their previous version instead of creating duplicates.

What Gets Imported

Asyntai imports the title and text of your pages, including the content of info, note, and warning panels, along with tables and lists. Very short pages and empty placeholders are skipped. Attachments and images are not imported.

Keeping Content Up to Date

Your wiki is read when you connect and whenever you start a sync. Pages you have deleted in Confluence are not removed from the knowledge base automatically, so if you remove a page that should no longer be used for answers, delete it from your knowledge base as well.

Privacy and Permissions

Asyntai requests read-only access to pages and spaces. Your content is used only to answer questions for your own assistant. You can disconnect at any time, which immediately removes the stored access to your Atlassian account.

Reconnecting

Atlassian expires access if an integration is unused for a long period, and access also ends if someone revokes it in your Atlassian account. When that happens the connection is marked as needing attention and you simply connect again using the button above.

Requirements

You need a Confluence Cloud site and an Asyntai account. Confluence Data Center and Server are not supported.
