AI Search for WordPress and WooCommerce

Overview

The WordPress plugin puts the AI Search Bar on your site without any code. It also connects your WooCommerce catalogue for you, so product results appear with their picture and price. You do not have to create an API key or copy anything by hand.

WooCommerce is optional. Without it the bar still searches your pages and posts. With it, the bar searches your products as well.

Installing the Plugin

1. In your WordPress admin, open Plugins and then Add New.
2. Search for Asyntai AI Search, then install and activate it.
3. Open Asyntai AI Search in the WordPress menu on the left.
4. Press Connect Asyntai. A window opens where you sign in or create a free account.
5. Wait a few minutes while your products are indexed. The plugin screen tells you when the bar is live.

During the connect step the plugin creates a read-only WooCommerce API key for you and sends it to us. Read-only means we can read your catalogue and can never change anything in your shop. Disconnecting in the plugin deletes that key again.

Choosing Where the Bar Appears

By default the plugin finds your theme's own search box, hides it, and puts the AI bar in exactly the same place. Nothing in your theme has to be edited. If your visitors press Enter without picking a result, your normal WordPress search page still opens, so nothing they already know stops working.

If you would rather place the bar yourself, turn that setting off and use any of these instead:

• The block called AI Search Bar, in the block editor.
• The sidebar widget of the same name, under Appearance and then Widgets.
• The shortcode [asyntai_search] in any page or post.

On an unusual theme the automatic search box detection can pick the wrong element. Put a CSS selector in the Search box to replace setting to name the right one yourself, for example .site-header form.search

What Happens on a Plan That Does Not Include It

The AI Search Bar needs the Standard plan or higher. On a lower plan the plugin does not put the bar on your site at all, and your normal WordPress search keeps working as before. The plugin screen tells you plainly which plan you are on.

The same protection applies when your monthly AI reply limit runs out part way through a month. The bar removes itself, your theme's own search box comes straight back, and your visitors keep being able to search. They are never left typing into a box that answers nothing.

The plugin checks this once an hour in the background, so upgrading your plan turns the bar on by itself. You do not have to update or reinstall the plugin.

Keeping Prices and Stock Current

Your catalogue is read again regularly, and the products a shopper is about to see are re-read from your shop before they are shown. A price you change in WooCommerce reaches your search results without you doing anything.

If Something Does Not Work

• No bar appears. Open the plugin screen and read the line under Search bar. It says exactly why the bar is off.
• The plugin cannot connect. Your server has to be able to make outgoing HTTPS requests. Some hosts block these by default, so ask your host to allow them.
• You see pages but no products. Check that WooCommerce is active, then look for a sync error message on the plugin screen.
• The bar replaced the wrong element. Fill in the Search box to replace setting with a CSS selector for the right one.

Using the Chatbot as Well

This plugin adds the search bar only. To add the chat assistant too, install our separate WordPress chatbot plugin. The two work side by side on the same pages and share the same knowledge base.
