Website chats on the contact, and new chat leads straight into Vtiger
Overview
Asyntai answers your visitors on your website. This add-on brings those conversations into Vtiger. Your sales team opens a contact and reads every chat that person had, message by message, before they pick up the phone.
New leads arrive on their own. A visitor who leaves an email address in the chat becomes a Lead in Vtiger, with the page they were on and the whole session.
What It Does
- Asyntai chats widget sits on the Contact and Lead pages. It counts the website chats of that email address and lists them, newest first.
- Asyntai chats button sits in the page header. It opens the full text of a conversation, visitor and assistant turn by turn.
- New leads in Vtiger. Every address the chat captures becomes a Lead, carrying the email, the phone number, the page, the country and the chat session.
Requirements
- Vtiger One Professional, One Enterprise, Sales Professional, Sales Enterprise or Support Professional. The platform tools this add-on uses are not in the Pilot, Exclusive or Starter editions.
- An Asyntai account on the Starter plan or higher, because the add-on uses the Asyntai API
- Administrator rights in Vtiger, to publish scripts and APIs
Installation
Follow these steps to add Asyntai to Vtiger:
Get Your API Key
Sign in to Asyntai, open Settings, then API, and copy your API key.
Allow asyntai.com
In Vtiger open Apps → Platform → API Designer. Press the Settings icon at the top right, pick the Contacts module, and add https://asyntai.com to the allowed domains. Do the same for Leads.
Install the Add-on
Open the Vtiger marketplace, find Asyntai AI Chatbot, and press Install. This adds the two scripts and the three API definitions.
Paste the API Key
In API Designer open asyntai_leads and asyntai_messages. In each one replace PASTE_YOUR_ASYNTAI_API_KEY with your key, then save and publish. The key stays on the Vtiger server.
Open a Contact
Open any contact whose email address has chatted on your website. The Asyntai chats widget lists the conversations. Press one to read it.
Turning On New Leads
The add-on ships a webhook called asyntai_lead. It turns each captured address into a Lead.
- In API Designer open asyntai_lead.
- Under Security generate a token and choose parameter, so the token rides in the address.
- Save and publish, then copy the endpoint from the Documentation panel.
- In Asyntai open Settings → API → Webhooks, add that address, and subscribe to lead.captured.
Start a chat on your own website, leave an email address, and the Lead appears in Vtiger.
Tip: A contact shows their chats when the email address on the Vtiger record is the address the visitor left in the chat on your website.
Removing It
Open Settings → Extension Store, find Asyntai AI Chatbot, and press Uninstall. The widget and the button disappear at once. Delete the webhook address in Asyntai as well, so no more leads are sent.
