OroCommerce Integration
Add an AI assistant to your OroCommerce storefront with one extension
Overview
OroCommerce is a business to business commerce platform. Buyers there work with large catalogues, long product names and technical specifications, so they ask a lot of questions before they order.
The Asyntai extension puts a chat assistant on every storefront page. The assistant answers those questions at any hour, in more than 80 languages, and turns a chat into a lead when the visitor leaves an email address or a phone number.
How It Works
The extension is an Oro bundle. It adds one section to the system configuration and one small script to the storefront layout. The script loads the chat widget on every storefront page.
The assistant answers from your own content. Asyntai reads your storefront when you add your website in the dashboard, so your product pages, your delivery terms and your returns policy become answers.
Requirements
- OroCommerce 6.1 or later
- PHP 8.4 or later
- An Asyntai account. Creating one is free, and the Free plan is enough to test the assistant.
- Command line access to the Oro application, and an administrator account in the back office
Installation
Follow these steps to add Asyntai to your storefront:
Install the Extension
Run this in the root folder of your Oro application:
composer require asyntai/orocommerce-chatbotRebuild the Cache and the Assets
Run these two commands:
php bin/console cache:clear --env=prod
php bin/console oro:assets:build --env=prodGet Your Website ID
Sign in to Asyntai, open Settings, then Installation, and copy your website ID. It looks like asyntai_ab12cd34.
Paste the Website ID
In the Oro back office, open System → Configuration → Commerce → Asyntai → AI Chatbot. Paste your website ID into Website ID.
Turn It On
Tick Show the chatbot on the storefront and press Save settings. Open your storefront. The chat bubble is in the corner.
Tip: Add your storefront address in the Asyntai dashboard first. Asyntai reads the catalogue there, so the assistant answers about your own products from the first chat.
Teaching the Assistant About Your Catalogue
A large catalogue needs more than the page text. In the Asyntai dashboard, open Knowledge and add a product feed, or upload your specification sheets as files. The assistant then answers with the exact article number, the price and the stock text you gave it.
Removing It
Run this in the root folder of your Oro application:
composer remove asyntai/orocommerce-chatbot
php bin/console cache:clear --env=prodThe chat bubble disappears from the storefront at once.
