Turn every website chat lead into an ActiveCampaign contact
Overview
ActiveCampaign is an email marketing and automation platform. The Asyntai app connects your website chat to it. When a visitor leaves their email address in the chat, ActiveCampaign gets a new contact at once, tagged with the app and the website, with the page they chatted on, their country, their phone number, and a link to the full conversation.
Your automations start from that contact the same second: a welcome sequence, a sales follow-up, a lead score, or a deal in the pipeline.
How It Works
Asyntai answers your visitors on your website around the clock. Along the way it asks for an email address when the visitor wants a follow-up, a quote, or a reply from your team.
Each of those addresses is a lead. The app sends every lead to ActiveCampaign the moment it appears, and ActiveCampaign creates the contact or updates the one that already exists. Map the Asyntai fields to any contact field you like: the chat page, the website, the country, the phone number, and the link back to the chat in your Asyntai dashboard.
Because the app is an inbound trigger, you can also start an automation from it directly: Asyntai - Create a contact from a chat lead appears in the trigger list.
Requirements
- An ActiveCampaign account
- An Asyntai account on the Starter plan or higher, because the app uses the Asyntai API
- The Asyntai chat installed on your website
Installation
Follow these steps to connect Asyntai to ActiveCampaign:
Get Your API Key
Sign in to Asyntai, open Settings, then API, and copy your API key.
Add the App in ActiveCampaign
In ActiveCampaign, open Apps, search for Asyntai, and press Add an app. Or open any automation, add a trigger, and choose Asyntai - Create a contact from a chat lead.
Connect Your Asyntai Account
Paste the API key into the Asyntai API key box and press Connect. ActiveCampaign shows the email address of your Asyntai account when the key works.
Choose the Website
Pick the website whose chat leads go to ActiveCampaign. Each website on your Asyntai account can have its own connection.
Map the Fields
Map Email to the contact email. Map the other Asyntai fields to any standard or custom contact field, then press Finish. From now on every chat lead becomes a contact.
Fields You Can Map
- Email: the address the visitor left in the chat
- Phone: the phone number, when the visitor left one
- Page where the chat happened: the URL of the page, so you know what the visitor was looking at
- Website: the domain, useful when one account runs several sites
- Country: the visitor's country
- Link to the chat in Asyntai: opens the full conversation in your Asyntai dashboard
- Chat session id and Chat started at
Every contact also gets two tags, asyntai-ai-chatbot-integration and the same tag with your website domain, so you can segment, score, or trigger automations on them.
Tip: Create a custom contact field named Chat link and map Link to the chat in Asyntai to it. Your sales team then opens the conversation with one click from the contact record.
Removing It
Open Apps in ActiveCampaign, find Asyntai, and delete the connection. Asyntai stops sending leads at once.
