AI Search for Webflow

Install our Webflow app to put the AI Search Bar on your site

Open AI Search Bar

Overview

A Webflow site grows: pages, blog posts, CMS collections, help articles. Visitors know what they want but not what you called it, so the search box gives them nothing. The AI Search Bar answers what they mean: somebody types "do you work with startups" and the bar finds your pricing page, although not one of those words is in its title.

The app puts the bar on your site without any code. We read your pages ourselves, so there is no API key to create and nothing to paste.

What You Need

  • A Webflow site. Any site plan works, including the free Starter plan.
  • An Asyntai account. The install makes one for you if you do not have one yet, free.

Installing the App

  1. Open the Asyntai AI Search app in the Webflow Marketplace and press Install, or open asyntai.com/webflow/search-app/auth/.
  2. Webflow asks you to authorise Asyntai for your site. Choose the site and press Authorize.
  3. Sign in to Asyntai, or create a free account. No website address is asked: we read it from Webflow.
  4. If you have several Webflow sites, pick the one to install on.
  5. We add the bar to the site and publish it. The page then shows the live status of the bar.

The first time, we read your site. The status changes to live as soon as the first pages are indexed, usually within a few minutes. You can leave the page open and watch it switch.

Where the Bar Appears

Your site has a Search element

The bar finds the Search element your site already shows, hides it, and takes exactly the same place. Nothing in the Designer has to be edited. If a visitor presses Enter without picking a result, your usual Webflow search results page still opens, so nothing they already know stops working.

Your site has no Search element

  1. In the Designer, add a Div Block where the bar should appear, for example in the navbar or the hero section.
  2. Open the Settings tab of the element and set its ID to asyntai-search.
  3. Publish the site.

The bar renders inside that element and follows the width you give it. This works on every Webflow plan, including the free one. If your site plan allows the Embed element, <div data-asyntai-search></div> inside an Embed works too, and you can add it to more than one place.

Colours and Text

The bar takes its accent colour from your Asyntai dashboard, and each visitor sees the placeholder text in their own language. Nothing has to be set in Webflow.

Plans and Limits

A site connected through this app runs the bar on any plan, including the free one. Your monthly reply allowance still applies, and searches and chat replies share it. The connect page shows how much of the month is left.

When the allowance runs out, the bar removes itself and your site's own Search element comes straight back. Your visitors keep being able to search. They are never left typing into a box that answers nothing. The bar comes back by itself when your allowance resets.

What the Bar Searches

Your pages, blog posts and CMS collection pages, as we read them from your published site. If you run a Webflow Ecommerce shop, its product pages are read the same way, because they are pages on your site.

If Something Does Not Work

  • No bar appears. Open the connect page and read the line under the coloured dot. It says exactly why the bar is off. If it says live and you still see nothing, your site has no Search element: add the Div Block described above.
  • The install says the site needs a paid Site Plan. Custom code is a Webflow feature of paid site plans. Upgrade the site in Webflow, then press Reconnect.
  • The bar replaced the wrong element. Write to us at [email protected] with your site address and we set the right one.
  • You changed the site and the bar is gone. The bar is site-wide custom code, so a redesign keeps it. If you removed it by hand under Site settings, Custom code, press Reconnect and it is added again.

Disconnecting

Open the connect page and press Disconnect and remove the search bar. We remove the bar from your site and publish it again. Your site's own Search element takes over at once.

Using the Chatbot as Well

This app adds the search bar only. To add the chat assistant too, install our separate Webflow chatbot app. The two work side by side on the same pages and share the same knowledge base.
