How to Add Asyntai AI Chatbot to Elxis
Step-by-step guide for Elxis CMS sites
The free Asyntai module puts the AI chatbot on every page of your Elxis site. The chatbot answers visitor questions from your own pages, 24/7, in more than 80 languages. You install it from the Extensions manager: it needs no template edit and it changes no core file. It works on Elxis 5.5 and 5.6.
Step 1: Install the module
- Download the module: mod_asyntai.zip
- Log in to your Elxis administration and open Extensions > Install & Update.
- Click Install/Update. In the box that opens, click Select file, choose the downloaded ZIP file and wait for the message that mod_asyntai is installed.
Step 2: Enter your Widget ID and publish
Your Widget ID is in your Asyntai Dashboard, under "Embed Code". It looks like asyntai_1a2b3c4d5e6f.
- Open Extensions > Modules and click Asyntai AI Chatbot. You can also click the Edit link in the install message.
- On the Parameters tab, paste your Widget ID into the Widget ID field.
- On the Basic settings tab, set Published to on.
- Click Save.
Note: Paste only the Widget ID, not the whole embed code. Elxis removes script tags from module settings when it saves them.
How the module works
- Every page: The module is assigned to all menu items, so the chatbot loads on every page of the site.
- Nothing visible in the layout: The module adds the chatbot to the page head. It shows no box and no title in its position. The installer puts it in the
footerposition, which the default Elxis template shows on every page. - Security policy: If you use a Content Security Policy with
{nonce}in Elxis 5.6, the module adds the same nonce to the chatbot script. Allowhttps://widget.asyntai.comin your policy.
Tip: To hide the chatbot for a while, set Published to off. Your Widget ID stays saved, so you do not have to delete the module.
Other templates: If your template does not show the footer position, open the module, choose a position that your template shows on every page, and save.
Step 3: Verify the installation
Open your site in a new tab or in a private window. The chat button is in the bottom corner. Click it and make sure it opens and answers.
Not seeing the chatbot? Check three things. The module is Published. The Widget ID field has your own ID. The module position is shown by your template. Then clear your browser cache.
Uninstall
- Open Extensions > Modules in your Elxis administration.
- Select Asyntai AI Chatbot and click Delete. Elxis removes the module and its files. No other site data is touched.
