The free Asyntai add-on puts the AI chatbot on every page of your LiteCart storefront. The chatbot answers visitor questions about your products, delivery and returns, 24/7. It is one vMod file: it needs no template edit and it changes no core file. It works on LiteCart 2.5, 2.6 and 2.7.

Step 1: Install the add-on

  1. Download the add-on: asyntai-litecart-ai-chatbot.zip
  2. Unzip the file. The add-on is the file upload/vmods/asyntai_ai_chatbot.xml.
  3. Log in to your LiteCart admin and open vMods.
  4. Under Upload a New vMod, select asyntai_ai_chatbot.xml and click Upload. LiteCart 2.7 also asks you to type a CAPTCHA.
  5. The row Asyntai AI Chatbot appears with a green dot and OK in the Health column.

By FTP: upload the contents of the upload/ folder to the root of your store. The file lands in vmods/asyntai_ai_chatbot.xml, and the add-on shows in vMods.

Step 2: Enter your Widget ID

Your Widget ID is in your Asyntai Dashboard, under "Embed Code". It looks like asyntai_1a2b3c4d5e6f.

  1. In vMods, click Configure on the Asyntai AI Chatbot row.
  2. Paste your Widget ID into the Widget ID field.
  3. Make sure Enable chatbot is set to Enabled.
  4. Click Save.

Note: Nothing loads until you enter a valid Widget ID. Use your own ID, not the one in the example.

Add-on settings

  • Enable chatbot: Shows or hides the chatbot. The default is Enabled.
  • Widget ID: Your own Asyntai Widget ID. Nothing loads without it.
  • Pages without the chatbot: Page names, separated by commas, on which the chatbot must not load. The default is checkout,order_process,order_success. Leave the field empty to load the chatbot on every page, checkout included.

Tip: To hide the chatbot for a while, set Enable chatbot to Disabled, or click Disable in vMods. You do not have to delete the add-on.

Alternative: Add the code to your template

If you prefer not to use the add-on, you can add the embed code to your template file:

  1. Open your LiteCart files by FTP or in your file manager.
  2. Go to includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE.catalog/layouts/.
  3. Open the file default.inc.php.
  4. Paste your Asyntai embed code just before the closing </body> tag:

  5. Save the file.

Important: A template edit is lost when you update the template. The add-on does not have this problem, so use the add-on when you can.

Step 3: Verify the installation

Open your storefront in a new tab or in a private window. The chat button is in the bottom corner. Click it and make sure it opens and answers.

Not seeing the chatbot? Check three things. The add-on row in vMods has a green dot. Enable chatbot is Enabled. The page you are on is not in the Pages without the chatbot list. Then clear your browser cache, and click Clear Cache in vMods.

Uninstall

  1. Open vMods in your LiteCart admin.
  2. Select the Asyntai AI Chatbot row and click Delete.
  3. The add-on file is removed. No store data is touched.
