A help center for your customers, with articles written by you or drafted by the AI from your knowledge base

Overview

The Help Center gives your business a searchable library of help articles on its own pages, with your logo and your brand colour. Customers find answers by themselves, and your chatbot is one click away on every page.

It works with the same knowledge base as your chatbot. The AI drafts articles from it, shows you the questions your visitors ask most, and translates everything into the languages you choose.

Writing Articles

Open the Help Center in your dashboard and click New article. The toolbar above the text adds headings, bold and italic text, lists, quotes and links, and the preview shows how the article will look. Press Ctrl+S to save at any time, and publish the article when it is ready.

Group your articles into topics on the Categories tab. Articles without a category are listed on the home page of your help center.

If you already have FAQs in your dashboard, click Import FAQs as drafts. Each FAQ becomes an article that you can check and publish.

Drafting Articles with AI

Click Draft with AI and type the question the article should answer. The AI writes the article from your knowledge base, your FAQs and your AI Instructions, with clear steps and links to the right pages of your website. It uses only the facts and links it finds in your own content.

The AI saves every article it writes as a draft, so you can read and edit it before your customers see it.

Suggestions

The Suggestions tab lists the questions your visitors asked your chatbot at least twice in the last 90 days. Each one is a good topic for an article. Click Draft with AI next to a question and the AI writes the article for you.

Languages

On the Settings tab, choose the main language you write in and the languages to translate into. The AI translates your published articles and category names automatically. When you change an article, its translations are updated too.

You can edit each translation in the article editor. Visitors choose their language at the top of the help center.

Publishing

Before you publish, send the preview link to your team. Anyone with the preview link can see the help center. Make a new link to stop the old one from working.

When the help center is ready, turn on Publish the help center on the Settings tab and save. Your help center opens at the addresses shown under Addresses.

Your Own Domain

Show the help center on a subdomain of your website, for example help.yourwebsite.com. Click Connect a domain on the Settings tab and follow the three steps:

  1. Type the subdomain you want to use.
  2. At your domain provider, add the DNS record that the window shows. On Cloudflare, set the record to DNS only (grey cloud).
  3. Click I added the record. We check the record and set up the SSL certificate for you, so your help center opens over HTTPS.

DNS changes can take a few hours. The window checks again every 20 seconds, and you can close it and come back later.

On your own domain, search engines can index your help center, so customers also find your articles in Google.

Chat on Every Page

With Show the chat on every help page turned on, your chat widget opens on the help center too. When a search finds no article, the search page offers to ask the AI the same question, so the visitor still gets an answer.

Statistics

The Articles tab shows how many times each article was read and how many readers found it helpful. The Statistics tab shows your article views and searches of the last 30 days, and lists what visitors searched for and did not find. These are good topics for new articles.

Your own visits and searches are not counted.
