How to Add Asyntai AI Chatbot to Document360

Step-by-step guide for Document360 knowledge bases

Get Embed Code

Step 1: Get Your Embed Code

First, go to your Asyntai Dashboard and scroll down to the "Embed Code" section. Copy your unique embed code which will look like this:

<script>(function(){var l=function(){var s=document.createElement("script");s.src="https://widget.asyntai.com/static/js/chat-widget.js";s.async=true;s.setAttribute("data-asyntai-id","YOUR_WIDGET_ID");document.head.appendChild(s)};if(document.readyState==="complete"){l()}else{window.addEventListener("load",l)}})();</script>

Note: The code above is just an example. You must copy your own unique embed code from your Dashboard as it contains your personal widget ID.

Step 2: Open the Custom CSS & JavaScript Settings

Document360 lets you inject custom JavaScript into every page of your knowledge base site. Here's how to reach the editor:

  1. Log in to your Document360 portal
  2. Click the Settings (gear) icon in the left sidebar
  3. Go to Knowledge base site → Custom CSS & JavaScript
  4. Select the JavaScript tab to open the code editor

Note: You need Owner or Admin permissions on the project to edit these settings. On some plans this section appears under Settings → Knowledge base site → Site customization.

Step 3: Paste Your Embed Code

With the JavaScript tab open, add your Asyntai snippet:

  1. Click inside the JavaScript code editor text area
  2. Paste your Asyntai embed code (the full <script> tag from your Dashboard)
  3. Click Save to store your changes
<script>(function(){var l=function(){var s=document.createElement("script");s.src="https://widget.asyntai.com/static/js/chat-widget.js";s.async=true;s.setAttribute("data-asyntai-id","YOUR_WIDGET_ID");document.head.appendChild(s)};if(document.readyState==="complete"){l()}else{window.addEventListener("load",l)}})();</script>

Tip: Document360 injects this code at the bottom of every page of your knowledge base site, so the chat widget will automatically appear across all of your articles and category pages.

Step 4: Publish Your Knowledge Base

Saving the setting stores it, but you may need to publish for the change to reach your live site:

  1. After saving, make sure your knowledge base site is published
  2. Open your live knowledge base URL to confirm the widget loads

Important: Custom JavaScript is intentionally disabled in shareable preview links. To verify your snippet, always open the published knowledge base site directly rather than a preview link.

Step 5: Verify Installation

Open your live Document360 knowledge base in a new browser tab or incognito window. You should see the chat widget button in the bottom right corner. Click it to ensure it opens and functions correctly.

Not seeing the widget? Make sure you saved the JavaScript setting and published your knowledge base site. Clear your browser cache or view in incognito mode, and confirm you're viewing the live site (not a preview link). Check the browser console (F12) for any JavaScript errors.
