How to Add Asyntai AI Chatbot to Brightspace

First, go to your Asyntai Dashboard and scroll down to the "Embed Code" section. Copy your unique embed code which will look like this:

Step 2: Create a Custom Widget

In Brightspace, the chatbot is added by creating a Custom Widget that holds your embed code. This normally requires an instructor or administrator role:

Log in to Brightspace and open the course where you want the chatbot (administrators can use Admin Tools to work at the org level instead)
From the course navbar, click Course Admin (or Admin Tools for an org-level widget)
Under the Site Resources section, click Widgets
Click Create Widget
On the Properties tab, give the widget a name such as Asyntai Chatbot
Open the Content tab and click the </> (source code / HTML editor) button to switch to HTML view
Paste your Asyntai embed code into the source editor
Leave Render in iFrame unchecked so the script runs in the page context and the floating chat button can appear over the whole homepage
Click Save and Close

ملاحظة: The Widgets tool lives under Course Admin for a single course, and under Admin Tools for the whole organization. If you don't see Widgets, your role may not have permission — ask your Brightspace administrator.

Step 3: Add the Widget to a Homepage

A custom widget only appears once it is placed on an active homepage using Homepage Management:

Go to Course Admin → Homepages (or Admin Tools → Homepages for the org level)
Create a new homepage, or click an existing one to edit it. If you edit a system homepage, use Copy first so you have an editable version
In a widget panel, click Add Widgets
Find and select your Asyntai Chatbot widget, then click Add
Click Save and Close
Back on the Homepages list, set your edited homepage as the Active homepage from the Active Homepage dropdown

نصيحة: An administrator can build this widget under Admin Tools and set it on the organization's default homepage so the chatbot appears across every course that inherits the default homepage, instead of adding it course by course.

مهم: Some institutions lock down homepages, widgets, or embedded scripts. If your changes don't take effect, your Brightspace administrator may need to grant permission or add the widget for you at the org level.

الخطوة 4: التحقق من التثبيت

After activating the homepage, open the course (or your Brightspace site) in a new browser tab or incognito window. You should see the chat widget button in the bottom right corner. Click it to ensure it opens and functions correctly.

لا ترى الأداة؟ Make sure the edited homepage is set as the Active homepage and that the widget was added to it. Confirm you left Render in iFrame unchecked. Clear your browser cache or view in incognito mode, and check the browser console (F12) for any JavaScript errors.
