Neos CMS Package
Add the Asyntai AI chatbot to your Neos website
Overview
Neos is an open source content application platform with editing directly on the page. The Asyntai package adds an AI chatbot to every page of your Neos website. Install it with Composer, connect your Asyntai account in the Neos backend, and the chat bubble is live.
The chatbot answers your visitors from your own website content, in more than 80 languages, day and night.
Requirements
- Neos 8.3 or later, including Neos 9
- An Administrator account in the Neos backend
- An Asyntai account. You can create one for free while you connect
Installation
Follow these steps to add Asyntai to your Neos website:
Install the Package
Run this command in the root folder of your Neos project:
composer require asyntai/neos-ai-chatbot
Open the Module
Sign in to the Neos backend and go to Administration > Asyntai AI Chatbot.
Connect Your Account
Click Connect to Asyntai. Sign in, or create a free account, in the window that opens. When you finish there, the module saves the connection by itself.
You can also paste your widget ID and click Save. Find the widget ID on the Install page of your Asyntai dashboard. It starts with asyntai_.
Open Your Website
The chat bubble is now in the corner of every page. Change its look, its knowledge and its answers in your Asyntai dashboard.
Configuration in Code
Teams that keep configuration in code can set the widget ID in Configuration/Settings.yaml. A widget ID set there always wins over the module.
Asyntai:
AiChatbot:
widgetId: 'asyntai_1a2b3c4d5e6f'
| Option | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
enabled | true | Set it to false to hide the chatbot and keep the connection |
widgetId | empty | Your Asyntai widget ID. It overrides the module |
scriptUrl | the Asyntai CDN | Advanced. Load the widget from another URL |
How It Works
The package adds one small script just before </body> on every HTML page of your website. The widget loads after your page, so your own content always shows first.
It works with every site package, because it does not depend on your Fusion page prototype. The Neos backend and the editing and preview frames stay as they are, so the chat bubble never covers your editing tools.
The connection is saved in Data/Persistent, so cache flushes and deployments keep it.
Answering From Your Content
Asyntai reads your published pages. The chatbot answers from the same pages it sits on. You can also add documents, and question and answer pairs, in the dashboard.
Tip: Run several Neos sites from one installation? Set a different widgetId in each context or deployment with Settings.yaml.
Removing It
Click Disconnect in the module, or run composer remove asyntai/neos-ai-chatbot. The chat bubble is gone.
