How to Add Asyntai AI Chatbot to AbanteCart

Step-by-step guide for AbanteCart stores

Step 1: Install the Asyntai extension

The Asyntai extension is the easiest way. It needs no template edit and it changes no core file. It works on AbanteCart 1.3 and 1.4, with the Default and the Novator storefront templates.

Download the extension: asyntai-abantecart-ai-chatbot.tar.gz
Log in to your AbanteCart admin.
Go to Extensions → Install extension and open the Extension Upload tab.
Choose the file you downloaded and click Continue.
Read the licence and click Agree. AbanteCart installs the extension and opens its settings page.

Note: Keep the file as it is. The AbanteCart installer takes the .tar.gz file directly, so you do not unpack it.

Step 2: Connect your Asyntai account

On the extension's settings page, click Connect to Asyntai.
A small window opens. Sign in to Asyntai, or create a free account.
The window closes by itself. The extension saves your Widget ID and switches on. The page shows Connected with your account email.

When you create a new account, Asyntai sets up your chatbot from your store's own pages. You can train it further, change its look and read every conversation in your Asyntai Dashboard.

Tip: If nothing opens when you click the button, your browser blocked the window. Allow pop-ups for your admin page and click the button again.

Extension settings

Status: Shows or hides the chatbot on your storefront. Connecting switches it on.
Asyntai account: Shows whether the store is connected. From here you open your Asyntai Dashboard, or click Disconnect to remove the chatbot from your store.
Widget ID: Filled in for you when you connect. You can also paste your Widget ID, or the whole embed code, from your Asyntai Dashboard under "Embed Code", then click Save. The extension keeps only the ID.

Step 3: Verify the installation

Open your storefront in a new tab or in a private window. The chat button is in the bottom corner. Click it and ask a question about your store.

Not seeing the chatbot? Check two things on the extension's settings page. Status is ON, and the page shows Connected. Then reload your storefront without the browser cache.

Alternative: Add the code to your template

If you prefer not to install the extension, you can add the embed code to your storefront template. Open storefront/view/YOUR_TEMPLATE/template/common/page.tpl and paste your Asyntai embed code just before the closing </body> tag:

Important: A template edit is lost when you update the template. The extension does not have this problem, so use the extension when you can.

Uninstall

Go to Extensions → All extensions.
Find Asyntai AI Chatbot and click Uninstall.
The chatbot leaves your storefront at once. Your Asyntai account and your conversations stay in your Asyntai Dashboard.
