Overview

Product Cards allow your AI to display visual product information directly in the chat. When a visitor asks about products or when relevant to the conversation, the AI can show interactive cards with images, prices, descriptions, and action buttons.

This is different from your Knowledge Base - while the Knowledge Base helps your AI answer questions, Product Cards are visual elements that appear in the conversation to help visitors discover and purchase your products.

How It Works

  1. You add products with names, images, prices, and descriptions
  2. You write an AI Description telling the AI when to show each product
  3. Visitor asks a question that matches your AI Description
  4. AI shows the product card with image, price, and action buttons

Import from URL

Instead of manually entering product details, you can automatically import them from any product page:

  1. Click the "Import from URL" button in the form header
  2. Paste the URL of your product page
  3. Click Import - AI will extract the product information
  4. Review the auto-filled fields and make any adjustments
  5. Click Add Product to save

The AI automatically extracts:

  • Product name and price
  • Product description
  • Main product image
  • Suggested button text (e.g., "Buy Now", "Subscribe")
  • AI description for when to show the product

Tip: The product page URL is automatically used for both button links, so visitors can click through to purchase. You can change these links if you have specific cart or checkout URLs.

Adding Products Manually

Each product has the following fields:

Required Fields

Product Name Required

The name displayed on the card. Maximum 30 characters.

Example: "Premium Wireless Headphones"
AI Description Required

Tell the AI when to show this product. Write in natural language describing the situations where this product is relevant.

Example: "Show when user asks about headphones, audio equipment, or music listening devices under $200"

Optional Fields

Price Optional

Accepts any text format - you can use currency symbols, ranges, or custom text.

Examples: "$29.99" • "From $19/month" • "Free" • "Contact for pricing"
Product Description Optional

A brief description of your product's features and benefits. Displayed below the price on the card.

Image URL Optional

Direct URL to your product image. Supports JPG, PNG, and WebP formats. For best results, use images at least 300px wide.

Example: https://yoursite.com/images/product.jpg

Tip: Product images are linked via URL, not uploaded. You can use images hosted on your website, a CDN, or image hosting services.

Configuring Buttons

Each product card has two configurable buttons:

Primary Button

Button Text Optional

The label on the primary action button. Default: "Add to cart"

Examples: "Buy Now" • "Get Started" • "Book a Demo" • "Subscribe"
Button Link Required if Button Text is set

Where the button takes visitors when clicked - your shopping cart, checkout page, booking form, or product page URL.

Example: https://yoursite.com/cart?add=product-123

Secondary Button

Details Button Text Optional

The label for the secondary button. Default: "More details"

Examples: "Learn more" • "View specs" • "See details"
Product Page Link Optional

Link to the full product page with specifications and more information.

Example: https://yoursite.com/products/premium-headphones

Writing Good AI Descriptions

The AI Description is crucial - it determines when your product appears in conversations. Write clear descriptions of the situations where the product is relevant:

Good Examples
  • "Show when someone asks about laptops for students or mentions they need a computer for school"
  • "Display when the visitor mentions budget constraints or asks about affordable options"
  • "Show this when user asks about premium features, pricing plans, or professional tools"
Poor Examples
  • "Laptop" - Too vague, won't match natural questions
  • "Show always" - Will clutter conversations
  • "Best product" - Doesn't describe when to show it

Managing Products

  • Activate/Deactivate: Toggle products without deleting them - useful for seasonal items or out-of-stock products
  • Position: Set display order when multiple products are shown (lower numbers appear first)
  • Live Preview: See how your card will look as you fill in the fields

Note: Changes take effect immediately - no need to republish your widget.
