Simple setup on Wagtail

The Wagtail project template creates a base.html that your page templates extend. You add the script tag there once, deploy, and the chat shows on every page. Four steps, five minutes.

Sign up and copy your code

Create your Asyntai account, add your site's address and copy your code from the dashboard. The AI starts reading your pages right away.

Open base.html

Open the base template of your project. In the default Wagtail project, it is mysite/templates/base.html, next to 404.html and 500.html.

Paste before </body>

Paste the script tag just before the closing </body> tag, outside every block tag.

Deploy, and you're live

Deploy as usual and restart your app server if it caches templates. The chat bubble appears in the corner of every page and already answers your users.

Put the tag in base.html itself, not inside a block that page templates override. When editors publish new pages, run a new crawl in the Asyntai dashboard so the chatbot knows them.

Do I need to change my page models?

No. You do not add fields, snippets, settings or migrations. The chat runs on Asyntai servers, and the only value in your code is your public site ID.

Will it slow down my Wagtail site?

No. The script loads asynchronously, after the page is shown. It adds nothing to your server response time or your static files.

How does the chatbot learn my content?

When you add your site's address, the AI reads your published pages: products, docs, blog posts and policies. You can upload documents and add your own instructions. After you publish new pages, run a new crawl from the dashboard.

Does it learn from the pages my editors publish?
