Overview

The AI Translation Widget allows your website visitors to translate your entire page content into over 40 languages with a single click. Unlike other translation tools, this uses AI-powered translation for natural, high-quality results.

The widget renders as a compact language dropdown that you can place anywhere on your website - in your navigation bar, header, footer, or sidebar. You have full control over where it appears.

Installation

Adding the translation widget requires two simple steps:

1
Add the container div Place this where you want the language dropdown to appear
<div data-asyntai-translate="YOUR_WIDGET_ID"></div>
2
Add the script Place this before the closing </body> tag
<script src="https://asyntai.com/static/js/translation-widget.js"></script>

Replace YOUR_WIDGET_ID with your actual widget ID from the Translation Widget setup page.

Placement Examples

The widget renders inline wherever you place the container div. Here are common placement options:

Navigation Bar Add next to your menu items
Page Header Top of the page, visible on load
Sidebar Alongside other navigation elements
Footer With other site-wide links

Supported Languages

The widget supports over 40 languages:

European English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Croatian, Serbian, Slovenian, Greek, Ukrainian, Russian
Asian Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Malay, Filipino
Middle Eastern Arabic, Hebrew, Turkish, Persian
Baltic Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian

How It Works

When a visitor selects a language from the dropdown:

  1. The widget scans the page for all translatable text content
  2. Text is sent to the AI translation service in batches
  3. Translations are applied directly to the page, preserving layout
  4. A loading overlay shows during translation

Visitors can switch back to the original language anytime by selecting English. The original text is preserved and restored instantly.

Usage & Billing

Each page translation counts as one message from your plan quota:

  • Visitor translates to Spanish = 1 message
  • Same visitor switches to French = 1 more message
  • Switching back to English = free (just restores original)

Tip: The message count is per translation action, not per text element. A page with 500 text elements still counts as just 1 message when translated.

Best Practices

  • Visible placement - Put the widget where visitors expect language options (usually header/nav)
  • Test your pages - Check that important content translates correctly
  • Consider your audience - If most visitors speak certain languages, this feature adds real value

Note: The Translation Widget is available exclusively on the Pro plan.
