Overview

Enable Thinking activates extended reasoning mode for your AI chatbot. When enabled, the AI takes extra time to think through complex questions before responding, resulting in more thoughtful and accurate answers.

This feature is ideal when your visitors ask complex questions that require careful consideration, analysis, or multi-step reasoning.

How It Works

  1. Visitor asks a question - They send a message in the chat
  2. AI thinks it through - The AI reasons through the problem step by step
  3. Quality response - A more considered, accurate answer is delivered

Trade-offs

Extended Thinking involves a trade-off between speed and quality:

Thinking OFF
  • Faster responses
  • Good for simple questions
  • Quick back-and-forth conversations
Thinking ON
  • Slightly longer response time
  • Higher quality answers
  • Better for complex questions

Note: Response quality still depends mainly on the quality of your instructions and knowledge base. Extended Thinking enhances reasoning but works best when combined with good knowledge base data.

When to Enable

Extended Thinking is most beneficial when:

Enable Extended Thinking

Turning on Extended Thinking is simple:

Go to Enable Thinking From your website menu, click "Enable Thinking"

Click Enable Click the "Enable Extended Thinking" button

Done! Your AI will now use extended reasoning for all responses

Tip: You can disable Extended Thinking anytime by clicking "Disable Extended Thinking" on the same page. Toggle it based on what works best for your visitors.
