Overview

Chat Logs gives you access to every conversation that happens on your website. Review what visitors asked, how the AI responded, and identify opportunities to improve your knowledge base.

Each conversation is stored with full context including the visitor's location, device, page URL, and timestamp.

Accessing Chat Logs

  1. Go to Chat Analytics - Click "View Chats" button
  2. Browse conversations - Scroll through the sidebar list
  3. Click any chat - Open the full conversation view

Chat View Layout

When you open a conversation, you'll see a two-panel layout:

Sidebar List of all recent conversations with preview text, time, and message count
Main Panel Full conversation with visitor messages and AI responses

Conversation Details

Each chat log includes detailed information about the conversation:

Timestamp When the conversation started
Location Visitor's country based on IP
Page URL Which page the chat started on
Device Desktop, mobile, or tablet
Message Count Total messages in conversation
User Context Logged-in user info if provided

Message Types

Conversations can include different types of messages:

Visitor Message
Questions and requests from the website visitor
AI Response
Automated responses from your AI chatbot
Human Agent
Messages from human takeover sessions

Simulate Conversation

Re-run any conversation to see how your AI would respond with your current knowledge base:

  • Simulate button - Click to replay the conversation
  • Compare responses - See if your AI improvements make a difference
  • Test changes - Verify knowledge base updates work correctly

Note: Simulate is available on paid plans (Starter, Standard, and Pro).

Tip: Use simulation after updating your knowledge base to verify that previously unanswered questions now get proper responses.

Translation

If a conversation is in a foreign language, you can translate it with one click:

  • Translate button - Appears when non-English text is detected
  • Original preserved - View both translated and original text
  • Full conversation - Translates all messages at once

Note: Translation is available on paid plans (Starter, Standard, and Pro).

Navigation

Quickly move between conversations using the sidebar:

  • Click any chat - Switch to that conversation instantly
  • Scroll to load more - Older chats load as you scroll
  • Active highlight - Current conversation is highlighted

Direct Links

Each conversation has a unique URL that you can bookmark or share:

Share these links with team members to discuss specific conversations or use them for training purposes.

Using Chat Logs to Improve

Review chat logs regularly to:

Find Knowledge Gaps Identify questions your AI couldn't answer well
Verify Accuracy Ensure AI responses are correct and helpful
Discover Trends See what visitors commonly ask about
Update Content Add new FAQs based on real questions
