Starter, Standard & Pro
Overview
The Blocked IPs feature allows you to prevent specific visitors from seeing the chat widget on your website based on their IP address. Blocked visitors will not see the widget at all — it will silently not load for them, so they won't know they've been blocked.
How It Works
- Add an IP address - Block a visitor from the chat view or enter the IP manually
- Widget becomes invisible - The chat widget silently stops loading for that IP
- No indication - The blocked visitor sees no error or message, the widget simply doesn't appear
- Manage anytime - Unblock visitors whenever you want from the Blocked IPs page or chat view
Blocking a Visitor
There are two ways to block a visitor:
From a Chat Conversation
Open any chat session, click the Actions dropdown, and select Block this visitor. The visitor's IP address will be automatically added to your blocked list.
From the Blocked IPs Page
Go to the Blocked IPs management page and enter IP addresses manually, separated by commas.
Managing Blocked IPs
The Blocked IPs page shows all currently blocked IP addresses for each of your websites. You can add new IPs, remove specific ones, or clear all blocks at once. Each website has its own separate blocked IP list.
Unblocking a Visitor
To unblock a visitor, you can either:
- From the chat view: Open the blocked visitor's conversation, click Actions, and select Unblock this visitor
- From the Blocked IPs page: Remove the IP address from the comma-separated list and save
Shared IP Warning
If a blocked IP address is shared by multiple people (for example, an office network, VPN, or public Wi-Fi), all visitors using that IP will be unable to see the chat widget. Use this feature carefully to avoid accidentally blocking legitimate visitors.
Note: This feature is available on all paid plans (Starter, Standard, and Pro). The blocks are per-website, so blocking an IP on one website does not affect your other websites.
