AI chatbot for MODX Plugin Documentation

Quick guide for installing and managing the Asyntai AI Chatbot on your MODX Revolution site.

Installation

  • Download the asyntai-1.0.0-pl.transport.zip package.
  • In your MODX Manager, go to Extras → Installer.
  • Click Download Extras, then switch to the Direct Download tab.
  • Click Choose File and select the downloaded package.
  • Click Upload to add it to your Package Manager.
  • Find Asyntai - AI Chatbot in the list and click Install.
  • Follow the installation wizard (no configuration needed during install).
  • The plugin will appear under the Extras menu.

Getting Started

  • Navigate to Extras → Asyntai - AI Chatbot in your MODX Manager.
  • Click "Get started" to log in or create a free Asyntai account.
  • Follow the popup to connect your site to Asyntai.
  • Once connected, the chatbot will automatically appear on all your public pages.

Managing Your Chatbot

  • View chat logs and conversations in the Asyntai dashboard.
  • Customize how your AI responds at Dashboard → Setup.
  • Change the chatbot's appearance and behavior from your dashboard.
  • To disconnect, click the "Reset" button in the Manager and reconnect if needed.

Compatibility

  • MODX Revolution: 2.2+, 2.8+, 3.x
  • PHP: 7.2+, 8.0+, 8.2+
  • Works with all modern MODX Revolution versions (2.x and 3.x).
  • Automatically detects your MODX version and adapts accordingly.

Manual Configuration

  • The plugin stores settings in System → System Settings under the asyntai namespace:
asyntai.site_id       - Your site's unique ID
asyntai.account_email - Connected account email
asyntai.script_url    - Widget script URL (default provided)
  • You can manually edit these if needed, but it's recommended to use the Manager interface.

Updating & Uninstalling

  • Update: Download the new version and install it via Package Manager (it will upgrade automatically).
  • Uninstall: Go to Extras → Installer, find Asyntai - AI Chatbot, and click Uninstall.
  • Uninstalling removes the plugin files and settings from your database.

Troubleshooting

  • Chatbot not appearing? Clear your MODX cache: Manage → Clear Cache.
  • Connection issues? Check that your site can make outbound HTTPS requests.
  • Manager page not loading? Ensure you have settings permission in MODX.
  • Installation errors? Make sure the package was built for your MODX version (2.x packages work on both 2.x and 3.x).
